Contributions and Donations

 

CONTRIBUTION IN THE ESTABLISHING AND COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING

MAJOR PROJECTS IN THE MILTON ULLADULLA AND DISTRICT AREA

- The Brodie Park in Ulladulla was established.

- Provided 2 tourist maps for Milton and Ulladulla.

- Established the Rotary Lookout at Pointers Gap.

- Developed Rest Area at Ryans Historic Morton Bay Fig Tree in Milton.

- Installation of a fountain at the Milton Central School named [The Henry Kendall Memorial Fountain].

- Tree planting at Boolgatta Flats including providing wire mesh guards to protect the trees from getting

damaged by rabbits.

- Established the Milton Adult Education Classes and donating 15 typewriters.

(The Adult Education Centre later became the TAFE College).

- Assist with furnishing the Legacy Units in Milton, installing handrails to units and providing the lawn

cutting for many years at the units.

- Support the Norm Symes Project at Frogs Hollow.

- Provide picnic tables and benches at the Ulladulla Boat Ramp, Mollymook Beach and Sarah Claydon

Retirement Village.

- Established the Mitchel Steam Engine Project at the Civic Centre.

- Support the Sarah Claydon Retirement Village Project by laying 1200m2 of turf and assisted with the

donation of $1,850.00.

- We build the Heliport including lights for day and night use at Milton.

- Donated Electronic Syringe Pump and Electronic Infusion Pump to the Milton Hospital.

- Established the Burrill Lake Park in conjunction with the Lions and APEX Club.

- For the Ulladulla Ambulance Service we donated 2 Resuscitation Mannequins.

- Provided the Ulladulla Police Station with a radio unit plus sponsored the Police Driver

Education Programme at the Ulladulla High School.

- For the Yurana Cancer House we assisted with providing the concrete path and ramp, built a shelter

and BBQ and donating BBQ setting plus furniture and cash.

- The Rotary Serving Van was established as a Community Service Project and at the same time to raise

funds to pay for rotary projects.

- Other fund-raising projects are the Melbourne Cup Calcutta, Christmas Ham and Seafood Raffle and

collect paper for recycling.

- 39 children were hosted and entertained for 1 week from the drought stricken area and

transported as well from Moree to Ulladulla and back again.

- Skillshare was established in Ulladulla by Rotary to retrain unemployed young and not so young Adults

to find employment in our community and surrounding district.

- The Milton Ulladulla Rotary Club established a significant Rotary Park in Ulladulla with a Rotunda

including BBQs and tables and benches, viewing platform, car barriers and a beautiful playground

with equipment.

- We organised and staged the [Italian Wedding with a Twist] which was a big success and netted us big

money $12,000.00 which was donated to the Shoalhaven Hospital for the new Dialysis Machine.

- ARHRF Australian Rotary Health Research Fund is supported by our Club, we provide financial support

to research projects within Australia which will enhance the health of the community.

- The John Hozack Clock was donated and fixed to the Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club.

- We assisted the local Coastal Patrol Unit with a substantive cash donation.

- For our paper recycling we built a shed at the local tip.

- The Milton Ulladulla Rotary Club donated and installed a Flagpole at the SES and Fire Brigade Building.

ORGANISATIONS, GROUPS, ASSOCIATIONS AND PERSONS BY DONATION OR

MANPOWER BY OUR ROTARY CLUB TO

- The Life Education Unit

- Hospital, Ambulance and Salvation Army

- Schools, TAFE College and Red Cross

- Bushfire, Flood, Fire and Darwin Cyclone Appeal

- Mollymook Surf Life Saving and Sports Clubs

- State Emergency Service and Bushfire Brigade

- Mullala House

- Scouts, Girl Guides and Ulladulla Army Cadets

- St Vincent De Paul and Suicide Prevention Force

- Area Medical and Westpac Helicopter

- Milton Town Band and Meals on Wheels

- Sams Van Appeal and Beth Nelson Appeal

- Blessing of the Fleet and Milton A and H Society

- High School Careers Nights, the Young Achievers Projects and Vocational Outings

 

THE MILTON ULLADULLA ROTARY CLUB PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT PART IN

THE DISTRICT ACTIVITIES AND HOSTED MANY HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL

EVENTS

- 2 Presidents Meeting 1971-1972 and 1974-1975 When In District 275

- We took on the responsibility to organise the District 971 district assemblies in 1981 and

1985.

- In 1978-1979 we assisted the Nowra Rotary Club with the conference activities.

- We responded to the call and hosted 2 of the most successful conferences, in the Rotary

year 1988-1998 and 1997-1998.

- The first Milton Ulladulla Rotaract Club was sponsored 1979-80 unfortunately not long

afterwards went into recess but was reactivated single handed by Past District Governor

Werner Pohl as a 25th Milton Ulladulla Anniversary present.

- The Milton Ulladulla Rotary Club was the first Club in District 971 to sponsor the mens

probus club in 1979-1980, followed by the ladies probus club in 1984-1985 and the mixed

probus club was sponsored in 1993-1994.

- 1987-88 was the year we organised and hosted the District RYLA Seminar.

- And for the younger generation 14-17 years of age 1-3 day RYPEN Seminar was organised

in 1993 at the H Ranch.

- To the District 269, 270, 275, 971 Global Exchange Students, who were on a 3 stage safari

tour, we extended our hospitality by providing overnight accommodation or just luncheon

and refreshments whilst staying or passing through Milton Ulladulla. In 1976, 1978, 1981,

1982 and 1985.

- The Milton Ulladulla Rotary Club organised the PETS meeting for incoming Presidents for

the Rotary year 1997-1998.

 

THE MILTON ULLADULLA CLUB IS PARTICIPATING IN THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

PROGRAM IN A SPLENDID WAY THROUGH THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND

WORLD COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS.

- Our Clubs contribution to the Polio Plus Project was $6350.00.

- Rotary International aim is to help eradicate Poliomyelitis from the world by the year 2005.

$247 million has been raised by all Rotary Clubs for this project.

- We participated by donating money to the 3H program which was instigated by our own

Australian 2nd Rotary International President Clem Renouf from Queensland District 9600

for Rotary International 75th Anniversary (3H stands for Health, Hunger and Humanity).

- The Milton Ulladulla Rotary Club participates in the Rotary Foundation Program through the

Group Study Exchange, benefactors bequest, Paul Harris Fellowship sponsor, and the

ambassadorial scholars program.

- The RAWCS Australian World Community Service is supported by our Club as well we assisted

in providing clean drinking water to 2 villages in India (Nagar and Sullurpet). Through the

RAWCS program and TRF matching grand.

- A number of our Clubs Rotarian and partners accepted the challenge and volunteered to

travel to underdeveloped countries to participate in FAIM projects, assisting in training

nationals to establish much needed facilities and carry out professional duties.

- Dental surgery equipment was sent to Guatamala, kindly donated by our own member Issa

Shalhoub.
