A word from President John

It is a great honour to be the president of any Rotary club and more particularly the Rotary club of Cooma because of the clubs long and rich history of contribution to the local community and the broader ideals of Rotary International.

The theme for this Rotary year is "Make Dreams Real". I am sure that this is the underlying motivation to every Rotary project and I look forward to helping to make a difference to a dream through Cooma Rotary club.

In addition to the projects that the Rotary club of Cooma has supported on a regular basis there are some new projects that we will be undertaking this year;

The planting of trees and installation of a watering system at Rotary Oval. We hope to commence this project over the current winter period. We are also investigating the feasibility extending the tree planting along the banks of Cooma Creek. This may become a longer term Rotary project to be implemented over a number of years.

The organisation refurbishment and installation of signage for the new Rotary "food bin" catering a van.

The significant modification to "Dave' s shed" so that it will accommodate the new and much higher catering van.

The acquisition of new members to provide the ongoing renewal so as to ensure the longevity of our club.

This year will be interesting, exciting full of surprises and challenges which I accept and I look forward to working through with my board and the members of the Cooma Rotary club.

The Four Way Test

1. Is it the truth?

2. Is it fair to all concerned?

3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
