Within Rotary District 9710 there are 48 Rotary Clubs which promote the Objects of Rotary in the rural and urban communities of South Eastern New South Wales (NSW) and in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Economic activities range from primary and secondary production in agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, horticulture and light manufacturing industries to service based activities such as finance, business, government, tourism, sporting, scientific, economic, cultural, health and educational.

Canberra, Australia's National Capital and seat of the Australian Federal Government, has the houses of Parliament with their infrastructure, monumental buildings such as the Museum of Australia, the National Gallery and the War Memorial, 6 Universities including Australian National University and the University of Canberra, the Australian Defence Force Academy, and many organisations involved in the pursuit of scientific research and the development of information technology.
