September 2008

Major Event in partnership with Rotary Club of Mitchell-Gungahlin

Ms Kirsty Sword-Gusmao will address the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise during breakfast on Tuesday 9 September

The topic will be "Restoring dignity, building bridges of understanding and support" through the Alola Foundation in Timor Leste - working with women and children.

RYPEN nominations are due by 1 September 2008     Check out the RYPEN link and consider encouraging a year 9 or 10 student who could benefit from the RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program of ENrichment) to attend.


The club now has 25 Kits for Kids ready to be sent to schools in the South West Pacific region  

Please contact PDG Ian Sayers if you are able to assist in the delivery of these items to the Donations in Kind Distribution Centre


October 2008

Celebrate the 15th Birthday of Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise

Friday 10 October 2008 at the Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club in Yarralumla.     Celebrations will commence at 1800 and conclude by 2100.

  1. Operation UPLIFT -  Bras and Boots  Don't forget to keep collecting those boots and bras for the South West Pacific region as well.    Contact Rosemary G if you need more information
     

  2. MAGAZINES Clean out your cupboards for the Hospice and the Canberra Hospital day oncology ward.  A sticker is put on each magazine so all know it comes from Canberra Sunrise. This is such a simple way to help others. Any queries, please contact Ainslie or Rosemary E.
     

  3. CHOCOLATES   Place your order with Judy M or contact her at this email address to help raise money for Sunrise projects.
